Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a new three-dimensional television broadcasting system (3DTV) that is fully compatible with the existing DTV system. Specifically, we propose the PMT structure for 3DTV service including a new descriptor. As a result of our subjective evaluation test, most of participants perceived the 3D depth of 3DTV as "good", and preferred a 3DTV to the conventional digital broadcasting service. Moreover, we confirmed the compatibility with the commercial DTV STB.
