Abstract
Certain business applications contain knowledge where some rules are known explicitly and other rules are known implicitly by examples. For such applications, expert system technology can be used for the explicit rules and neural network technology can be used for the implicit rules. This paper presents a knowledge engineering methodology which integrates expert system technology, neural network technology and Lotus compatible worksheets. A merger and acquisition analysis is presented as a typical application
