Abstract
On the base of research on congestion control, a flow control mechanism in video-on-demand system is proposed by introducing client buffer analysis. Congestion control and client buffer control were combined to adjust the sending rate adaptively. In this mechanism, all complex operations of traffic control were carried out at the clients, reducing the burden of the video server, allocating the network bandwidth based on the demands of all the clients, realizing multi-client balance, improving the system QoS.
