Abstract :
The V-band frequency synthesizer is presented including: a microwave voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), a microstrip coupler, a 3-stage 25 dB centimeter-wave power amplifier, an active high-order IMPATT-diode multiplier, a band-pass filter, and an output isolator. The signal from the VCO tunable in the 7.00-7.10 GHz band throw a microstrip coupler goes to the power amplifier. After the amplification the signal passes to the multiplier, tuned to the 10th harmonic of the VCO operating frequency. This signal is amplified and then multiplied in 10 times by the IMPATT-diode multiplier.
