Abstract :
Step frequency waveforms have been used to create high resolution range profiles for aircraft identification. Some provisional results from data captured with an L-band radar in 1996/97 are shown. The identification process makes use of correlation filters. The results suggest a reasonable recognition rate for large aircrafts under the assumption that a complete database of correlation filters is provided
