Abstract :
The special software was developed to solve the VLSI optimum placement problem. Model examples demonstrated efficiency of the novel approach based on the hybrid R-functions method-genetic algorithm (RFM-GA) scheme. The technique proposed in this work may be applied to solving a wide class of optimization problems in electrodynamics. For example, instead of VLSI blocks as thermal sources we may consider spots of infrared radiation in bolometric sensors or other devices. Another perspective generalization of the algorithm considered is the 3D optimal placement, for example in multilayered VLSI devices.
