Abstract
We present an approach for matching innovative applications with upcoming mobile technologies, like UMTS, through structured service description. Eventually, this approach can be used to perform market analysis for mobile services, using a value chain model that puts communication services in an economic context. The approach has been applied successfully to a number of cases in the Netherlands
