  • Abstract
Aimed at the limitations in previous research about integrating systems depending on a special field over last ten years, the paper proposes a general integrating platform which can be used in a variety of applications. In general, integrating systems suffer from performance bottlenecks due to network overhead. In order to address this problem, we introduce semantic caching mechanisms to reduce the high network communication costs as much as possible to improve the performance of the system. In addition, the paper also discusses two kinds of synchronous techniques to guarantee the data consistency between the mediator and data sources. There can divide the system into three portions: data integration, query handling and data synchronization. Key techniques on the design and implementation of the system are described in details in this article.
