Abstract :
A simple and accurate model is used to calculate the jitter induced by soliton collision in a transoceanic transmission link with dispersion management. The jitter penalty is shown to come from the adjacent channels. It was shown that the jitter variance mainly scales as Ω-3 with no channel spacing upper limit due to asymmetrical collisions. This is the major improvement brought by dispersion management. On the other hand, for small channel separations, dispersion management is responsible for a jitter increase partly due to the enhanced soliton energy
