Abstract :
We present a low-resolution content-based image-watermarking scheme. The watermark is embedded in the lowest resolution representation of the original image obtained after applying three-level wavelet decomposition. In order to increase the invisibility of the watermarking algorithm, a visual model based on local image characteristics, such as textures and edges is incorporated in the watermarking algorithm. In this way, the watermark is embedded in the areas of high detail. To evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme, a comparison with two existing watermarking schemes is done. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme is robust against DCT- and DWT-based compression and common image processing operations
