Abstract :
This paper shows optimisations and experiments relating the potential of an optical mm-wave source including a high speed DFB laser in a 38 GHz radio over fibre link. The overall phase noise is also discussed. We present an optical source allowing low dispersion penalty up to 20 km and discuss the main parameters of the optical source influencing the performance of a radio over fibre link at 38 GHz. We show also phase noise aspects of the optical source and how to reduce its influence in the link
