  • Abstract
Mostly traditional grouping models based on the strength of perceptual organization concentrate on their local cues, such as proximity, good continuity and similarity, and ignore their scope of perceptual cues in grouping model. The result of grouping is not consistent with perceptual organization. A hierarchy grouping perception model based on the scope of gestalt cues is developed. Most salient edges are used as grouping data set. The inferential power of gestalt local cues for contour grouping is employed as lower level grouping cue, while the symmetry measure is employed as higher level grouping cue. Experimental results demonstrate the model reduces ambiguities in the intermediate representation, while holding biological plausibility.
