Abstract
The authors consider large classes of problems in which dynamical systems satisfy nonlinear differential and discrete equations, boundary conditions are to be met, certain functionals are to be minimized or maximized, unknown system parameters are to be identified on the basis of experimental data, and systems are to be designed for optimal utilization, control, and performance. These developments produce rapid prototyping capabilities for systems engineers, systems analysts, software engineers, and others to use in creating intelligent information-based systems
