Abstract
A synoptic data collection effort was undertaken between June and October 1987 at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, CA. Three months of tidal data from offshore and within the harbor, and one month of current data and half tidal cycles of current profiles throughout the harbor were obtained. The data are to be used for model verification and calibration. Tidal elevation were referenced to MLLW (mean lower low water) by analysis of average water surface elevations at each site and adjustments for variance in monthly mean sea surface elevations from MSL (mean sea level)
