  • Abstract
    This paper focuses on the development and the real time implementation of various audio effects on an input audio signal. This system would help the sound engineer to easily configure/capture various audio effects in advance by simply varying the values of predefined Simulink blocks. Parameters controlling the nature of the transfer function of the effects system are adjusted and it is their fine tuning that is also possible with this new approach .This is an additional facility in our design that is not possible in traditional audio effects units available in the market. The digital signal processor used here implements our designs on an input audio signal; this broadens the versatility of our system by allowing the user to employ the processor for any audio input system. The paper proceeds with the real-time concepts of controlling the various audio effects via on-board DIP switches on the C6713 DSK. Controlling of Simulink model parameters can also be done using MATLAB created GUI. The GUI enables natural and flexible reconfiguration of effects, and storage of set ldquopatchesrdquo which can be recalled at the push of a DIP switch. A great deal of research is also being carried out on getting our design to function in the standalone condition.
