Abstract :
This paper presents a new algorithm for locating partial discharges (PD) online. An analogue model was built to test and verify the proposed method of location. For on-site PD measurements, the signals obtained had to be processed prior to implementing the algorithm. This is because on-site PD measurements are frequently affected by noise due to external factors. The paper describes a noise reduction method where PD was successfully extracted from the noisy signal
