Abstract :
In order to study the insulation deterioration and flashover performance of transmission-line insulators in seasalt and freezing weather, measurements of DC leakage resistance and flashover tests were carried out in a cold room. These experimental results of comparison between DC leakage resistance and flashover events show that R1 higher or lower than 1×104 Ω has a higher probability of flashover occurrence
