Abstract :
The flow at the early stages of axisymmetric EHD plumes is analyzed, by means of boundary layer analysis. It is found that very near the surface, the in ward velocity of the liquid, due to the acceleration in the axial direction, overcomes the radial drift velocity of the ions. So the liquid pushes the ions toward the axis, confining the electric charge
