Abstract
Dipoles are generally present in inorganic, organic and biological materials. Dipolar polarization plays a decisive role in the dielectric behaviour of materials. Since there always exists some non-uniformity of the local situations of the individual dipoles or charges, the dipolar relaxation times are likely to be distributed. This paper describes a new method for the determination of the relaxation time and hence the energy distribution of dipoles based on the frequency response spectra or the temperature dependence of the relative permittivity
