Abstract
As a major stride towards the fusion of modern control theory and conventional PID control, the newly developed active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) is of great practical significance. This paper presents ADRC applications to tackle some problems encountered in flight attitude control. The ADRC design is employed for pitch and roll attitude control. ADRC is superior in both dynamic performance and robustness. ADRC with fixed parameters demonstrates better performance than the classical gain-scheduled control in the full flight envelope. The concept of weariness degree is put forward for the first time in evaluation of applicability. With a view to weariness property, ADRC is superior to PD control due to its small feedback gains adapting to implementation. Simplified ADRC in the roll channel is designed to improve the poor robustness and disturbance attenuation ability resulting from low bandwidth of the actuator, simulation result validates its effectiveness. Some of the results are verified in a hardware-in-the-loop test.
