Abstract :
The present paper refers to the conversion of a resistor value into N digital bits. It pertains to applications where an external resistor encodes a binary digital value in the corresponding number of resistance values. The method consists in successive comparison, in N steps (equal to the number of bits), of a reference resistor (usually inside the chip) with the resistor to be measured (connected to an input pin).
