Abstract
Performance of the shadow-copy update method in a memory-resident database environment has previously been studied analytically and by simulation. However, not all of the several possible shadow memory architectures have been investigated thoroughly. The article describes a transaction processing testbed facility that has been constructed to examine performance of database operations using actual shadow memory implementations
