Aloe is a kind of perennial herbaceous plant, distributed throughout the world, including many bioactive components that can be applied in many fields such as medicine, healthcare, cosmetic and food. To identify and protect the elite germplasm resource, it is significant and necessary to construct its fingerprint. In this study, forty random amplified polymorphism DNA (RAPD) primers were evaluated on polymorphism between two aloe varieties, and fifteen primers presented clear electrophoresis bands and well polymorphism. The selected fifteen primers were further used to construct the fingerprints of six elite aloe varieties, and the results showed that it is quite easy to differentiate different aloe varieties by the constructed fingerprints. These results provided a valuable reference for other related studies.
