In the present study, thirty-two marine fungal strains with different origins were screened on their inhibitory activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococus aureus (MRSA) by paper disk agar diffusion method and the taxonomy of the active strains were identified by ITS1-5.8 S-ITS2 rDNA sequencing, BLAST and phylogenic analysis. As the result, twelve strains exhibited strong anti-MRSA activity and they were identified as Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus sydowii, Aspergillus unguis, Arthrinium phaeospermum, Chaetomium globosum and Hypocrea lixii, respectively.
