Abstract :
We present a scheme using a saturant absorbent that allows us to study the bistable regime of polarization for λ = 3.39 μm in the T-shaped resonator of a He-Ne laser. The switching observed by us can be explained by the effect of competition of the P- and S-waves in the active medium. The considered scheme is interesting for polarization locators, optical switches, etc
