Abstract :
The wavelet packet method is a generalization of wavelet decomposition that offers a richer signal analysis. A wavelet packets decomposition is represented by a subtree of the complete decomposition tree which is given by all possible dyadic decomposition of a signal with two filters fulfilling the power complementarity condition. We performed wavelet packet analysis on a FASTA-formatted sequence by using biorthogonal wavelets.
