Abstract :
Extending our previous work on intuitionistic fuzzy histograms [1], we introduce the concept of hesitancy histogram and its application for enhancing low-contrasted images. The hesitancy histogram is based on intuitionistic fuzzy numbers using an entropic optimization criterion. Motivated by the histogram equalization technique, a hesitancy histogram equalization scheme is also proposed. Application of the presented intuitionistic fuzzy approach to real-world low-contrasted images demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.
