Abstract :
WRKY transcription factor comprised a large family of zinc-finger-type transcription factors. It involved in various biotic or abiotic stress responses and various developmental stages. Though many WRKY genes had been cloned in different kinds of species, the function and phylogenetic relationship remained unclear. In this study, a genomic DNA from tomato was cloned, bio informatics analysis revealed that it contained 3 introns and 4 extrons, and it encoded a group II WRKY transcription factor protein, named as LeWRKY2, which consisted of 156 amino acids and contained one WRKY domain, one C2-HC type zinc finger motif. Phylogenetic analysis showed that it had the closer phylogenetic relationship with Capsicum annuum´s WRKY (Genbank no. AAW67002.1).
