Abstract :
A low cost near-field measurement system has been designed and built at C-CORE, Memorial University of Newfoundland. The system provides significant flexibility to increase antenna test capabilities. The probe on its scanner can move covering a planar area of 1.5 m/spl times/1.5 m. The design is set in such a way that it can be placed inside C-CORE´s anechoic chamber. This paper gives detailed description of this low cost near-field/far-field measurement system. Based on the discrete Fourier transform, far-field radiation pattern is calculated from near-field data. An acceptable agreement is obtained between calculated far-field pattern with those measured directly inside the anechoic chamber.
