Abstract
Summary form only given. Wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) systems are introduced in order to manage increasing demands for large capacity. Total throughput transmission capacity of over 100 Gbps or more using a developed existing 2.5 Gbps technology. In order to construct highly dense WDM, many optical components, such as signal source with precisely controlled wavelength, i.e., 100 GHz-spacing, filters such as silica-based arrayed-waveguide-grating and EDFA´ s are required. In this paper, state-of-the-art both 980 nm and 1480 nm pumping sources are introduced
