In resent years, a number of studies have been done on physiological effect of polysaccharides. Polysaccharides is a species of compounds take on some very important biological activity and pharmacological activity; And because our country is the origin of traditional Chinese medicine, in which saccharide is a common component, the exploitation of plant polysaccharides come to a new period that more and more people take part in it. The focus of this article is to make a summary on the functions of plant polysaccharides, such as antioxidant, scavenging free radical , anti-tumor, immunity, decline blood glucose, et al. At the last we bring forward the direction of the development in future.
