Abstract
The rapid development of next generation Internet (NGI) and diversity applications make numerous traffic increase. After elaborating drawbacks that traditional MPLS forwarding can not process these enormous traffic, a multipath adaptive forwarding equivalence class (MAFEC) algorithm is proposed. MAFEC can transmit the same-label-traffic into multiple available LSPs (label switch path) and can avoid routing oscillation. Using NS2 simulation, we compare MAFEC algorithm with two widely-used algorithms. MAFEC achieves a higher throughput, lower latency and packet loss rate among these algorithms.
