Abstract :
The problem of modeling Active Harmonic Filters in harmonic analysis packages is receiving huge attention with the increased use of Active Harmonic Filtering solutions in electrical networks. A method is proposed to model Active Harmonic Filters in harmonic analysis packages, which use current injection models. Issues and solutions related to Active Harmonic Filter modeling are outlined and discussed. A model is developed to represent the effect of Active Harmonic Filtering in a real-life network. Simulation results are also presented using the SKM power tools ldquoHi_Waverdquo harmonic simulator.
