Abstract :
This paper gives an overview of the power quality regulation of transmission grids in regard of power stations in France and the UK. Chapter 3 gives an overview of the large electricity producers. Chapter 4 gives an overview of the transmission network operators, the voltages at which the transmission grid operates and the regulators. Chapter 5 gives an overview of the quality indicators, registration of quality indicators and the registration regulation. Chapter 6 gives a general overview of quality regulation and specific regulation concerning power stations. Compensation payments due to planned and unplanned interruptions are discussed. The UK responds to every single disconnection, and has separate compensations for planned and unplanned disconnection. France has a compensation-free repair time of six hours and no regulation concerning planned interruptions. Finally a comparison between the policy of each country is made.
