Abstract :
The authors focus on the need for and the underlying concepts of the concurrent engineering approach. They describe concurrent engineering methodology for product development. An attempt is made to clarify the prevailing misconceptions about concurrent engineering. The primary objectives of concurrent engineering and its impact on industry are also discussed. Some examples of organizations benefiting from concurrent engineering are presented to substantiate the potency and effectiveness of the methodology
