Abstract
This paper deals with active compensation of torque harmonics in brushless DC motors. The proposed method consists in analytical computation of currents which allow removal of electromagnetic torque harmonics. The originality of this paper is that, for a given motor, the number of harmonic currents is minimized. Therefore, the maximum frequency of currents is limited so that practical implementation is simplified. A complete algorithm of currents harmonics computation is presented and an example concerning a motor integrated in the wheel of a bicycle is detailed, in order to show the accuracy of the method
