Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present an integrated starter-alternator system based upon switched reluctance machine (SRM) technology. Experimental results are first presented to show the ability of a SRM to start a thermal engine. Then through the use of simulations and experiments the generating mode is investigated. Finally simple alternator mode control strategies are presented In particular we highlight the existence of a simple law that enables achieving maximum average output current possibilities with a reduced set of parameters
