To assess the effects of osteopontin on osteoblast, Large quantity of high-purity osteoblasts had been cultivated successfully by adopting sequential enzyme digestion. The growth curve of osteoblasts was protracted by cell counting. Proliferation of osteoblasts was assessed by MTT colorimetry. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity test kits was carried out to evaluate the effect of osteopontin on rat osteoblasts. The experimental results show that the osteopontin can enhance proliferation, the ALP activity of osteoblast, the properties of adhesion and discuss the effect of osteopontin on osteoblast.
