Hands-on learning of measurement technologies applying simulations by MS Excel and NI LabVIEW

Abstract :
In this paper, the hands-on learning programs of measurement technologies were developed. One program is the learning of analog signal measurement (input signal parameters and digitizing parameters of analog-to-digital converter) applying the simulations by MS Excel. The other program is the learning of digital signal processing (filters and Fourier analysis) applying the simulations by NI LabVIEW. The learners can change the parameters on their own PC and can confirm their effects visually. The results of the marks of the final exam and questionnaire showed that the students well understood this class and evaluated this class highly.
