Abstract :
The size and position of equipment under test are very important to keep inner TEM wave characteristics of transient electromagnetic facilities which count for much how to utilize them properly. This paper presents the research of EUT position of typical transient electromagnetic facility specified in MIL-STD-461F. Three transient electromagnetic structures are introduced and their inner field distributions are also analyzed respectively. Then a conclusion is summarized that in the recommended EUT position of these typical transient electromagnetic facilities, the electric field is in direct proportion to the voltage applied. This is quite beneficial not only to compute the inner electric field within the transient electromagnetic facilities, but also to evaluate the power needed to exert to them.
