  • Abstract
    With the great development of economy and society, large quantities of bridge need to be monitored in the highway and the distance between two bridges located in different places may be even more than 50 kilometers. The remote transmission is the key premise for remote monitoring of several bridges or more (bridge group) at same time. In this paper, an effective remote transmission method is presented for health monitoring system of bridge group based on SDH technology. In the context, the remote communication principle of the proposed method is stated firstly and then the hardware and software configurations are given out respectively. Finally the availability of the remote transmission system is proven by the results from a real application example for health monitoring of four bridges in different places.
