Abstract :
The paper deals with the estimation and a torque analysis of the permanent magnet DC motor, by using different numerical methods. For that purpose, at the beginning, it is necessary to calculate the magnetic field distribution in the whole investigated domain of the motor. The calculations are carried out for different rotor displacements at different current loads. Later, the torque is calculated numerically by using three different numerical methods, as follows: flux-current, Maxwell stress and virtual work method. The torque characteristics are presented in figures and some of the calculated values are compared with the measured ones
