Abstract :
The author presents the linear parts of voltage-current characteristics (VCC) for cathodes with a porous all metal surface. The current increases up to a maximum at gas gettering, then decreases. A second, sometimes a third maximum are observed, but having lower amplitude. The VCC linear parts for electrodes exposed to the atmosphere and the influence of rare gas ions are discussed
