Abstract
The paper deals with an approach to size an electromechanical system based on Thomson effects. Such a device is characterised by some discontinuity during its operation. So, to simulate them, tools and methods to solve differential equations and events are required. In this way, the paper proposes an optimisation process by using the development environments GENTIANE (for time simulation) and EDEN (for optimisation)
