Abstract :
New results of the 2D computer simulation of matter transition into extreme states (with maximum pressures of 100-200 Mbar and specific internal energies up to a few 10s of MJ/g) during vacuum discharges induced by picosecond laser beams under comparatively small applied voltages (U0≈150 V-3 kV) are represented. These processes are accompanied by micro plasma focus formation and X-ray radiation generation
