  • Abstract
The paper focuses on the leading telecommunications markets for DC generators and the economic and technical factors leading to the DC generator decision in each. DC generation is contrasted against other energy reserve schemes, both pro and con. Short and long term implications of using DC generators are also discussed. Some possible areas for future deployment are presented, with an economic case for each use category. Thermal management, packaging, fuel selection, fuel storage and redundancy and fuel system design considerations are all covered. Future technical directions for DC generator development are highlighted, and the yet-unsolved technical roadblocks are identified
