Title :
The motion of cathode spot in self magnetic field of high current arc discharge
Abstract :
The cathode spot dynamics on pure metals Ti, Cu, Pb, Zn, Sn, in high current vacuum arcs was investigated. The experimental data show that the spot velocity is only dependent on magnetic flux density and cathode material. This dependency has nonlinear shape and is analogous with the velocity of a single cathode spot in a tangential magnetic field. The semiempirical expression for calculation emission zone of the cathode for any form of impulse of a current is offered
