Abstract
In this paper, the application of fast multimodal ABCs for the time domain analysis of the electromagnetic waves in infinite three-dimensional shielded microwave structures is presented. The ABCs are used within a hybrid PEE-FDTD algorithm which combines a classical FDTD method with partial eigenfunction expansion (PEE) scheme. The WG-90 waveguide with a thick asymmetric inductive iris is analysed. The numerical results clearly exhibit the validity and efficiency of the presented algorithm
