Abstract :
The purpose of this contribution is to provide a survey of applications and projects for digital wireless communication technology in a railway related context. Two classes of applications exist in this area: safety related control applications and not safety related information applications. Both are supporting the intelligent mobility: the second ones directly by providing travel information to the travelling users with and the first ones indirectly by ensuring an undisturbed journey.
