Abstract
As wireless access networks are being developed to provide the users with always-on connectivity and better QoS, many papers have addressed the issue of providing service adaptation for the multimedia application in the case of vertical handovers. Thus providing service continuity while roaming among different wireless access networks is one of the most challenging issues of Next Generation Wireless Networks NGWN. Context awareness has showed a significant effect to guarantee services continuity. In this paper, we will study the performance of voice and video applications based on the proposed Context-Aware Management Scheme (CAMS) in terms of different performance parameters such as jitter, packet loss and end-to end delay in the case of vertical handovers VHO from WiFi to WiMax.
